Sacred Waters
Where sky meets sea, each day you’ll awaken to the warmth of the Caribbean sun on a gorgeous tropical island.
Our mornings will begin with an enlivening yoga flow where you will discover your body’s innate wisdom while moving in harmony with your natural surroundings. In the evening, you will wind down with either a gentle flow or Yin Yoga centered around Pranayama (breath work) and sound healing to allow for rest and reflection. Serena will also offer the experience of an eco somatic dance class where you will be guided through playful movement scores accompanied by curated music that allow for you to feel the rhythms of the earth in your own bodies. These sessions offer space to release stored tension, soothe the nervous system, and reclaim joy through embodied expression— suited for all levels of movers. Each participant will receive an optional mentorship session with Serena.
There will be time for leisure and play. You will have full access to the pool, common areas, and to Playa Costombar, a community beach that is an easy walk from our santuary. The group will explore and enjoy the natural beauty of Puerto Plata and its rich culture. We will do day trips and excursions including hiking the famous 27 waterfalls of Damajagua, boat ride to Paradise Island, scenic ride on the Puerto Plata Cable Car, trips into town for meals/shopping.
Two meals daily will be provided, locally sourced along with snacks and refreshments readily available. There will be sacred opening and closing ceremonies where we will build flower altars and have cacao/herbal teas.
Optional but highly recommended, one day spent for a couple of hours doing service work within the community partnered with Rain Humanitarian a non profit service work company in Puerto Plata. After all sign ups and getting to know the group I will decide on what service project we do such as painting homes for families, packing food for those in need, organizing clothing drives.
Between active explorations there will be:
moments of stillness and rejuvenation
deep listening
collective wisdom
natural creative expression
transformation in new awareness
This retreat has limited spaces to offer movers an intimate and meaningful learning experience.
To ensure your spot, reserve as soon as possible.

Meet Your Guide
Serena Pickett is a Somatic Educator dedicated to guiding people back home to their bodies through connection with land, movement, and breath. She holds a degree in dance and social justice along with being a certified Vinyasa & Yin Yoga instructor with a continued education certification in breathwork. Serena is a Desi Indo-Caribbean and European mixed raced artist. Much of Serena’s wisdom is lineage based, she is a culimnation of when two cultures come together. She finds great joy in staying true to yoga’s roots as it her way of honoring her ancestry. Drawing on her decade plus dance background and environmental studies she weaves breath, imagery, and contact with natural patterns into a gentle practice that dissolves the illusion of separateness from nature. Serena’s philosophy is connecting with the Earth reciprocally as a way of being thus blending into her teaching and choreography.
Serena is most passionate about reimagining spaces and believes her greatest gift is holding a container for a collaborative community to allow for creation, connection, compassion, and play.
